"Our Vision and Mission inspire me, and I'm so honored that the Board of Directors have chosen me to be their 'hands and feet', to serve my brothers and sisters all across this great nation. I want to help Veterans overcome the obstacles that are in the way of achieving their goals. I want to help Veterans find purpose and meaning in their lives after they hang up their uniforms. I want to inspire them to avoid this idea of victimization, and, instead, chase exceptionalism."
Mike Nasche, Director of Veteran Relations
Impact A Hero provides immediate and ongoing emotional and financial support for our severely-wounded post-9/11 combat veterans and their families. The organization helps our wounded warriors financially through everyday living expenses and accommodating their new special needs, such as retrofitting a house for a wheelchair. Thousands of War on Terror wounded veterans are paralyzed or suffer from severe burns, brain injury, depression, or post-traumatic stress disorder. However, Impact A Hero also offers unconditional and emotional support for these wounded veterans through their IAH Emotional Support Program, in which they meet their athletic and entertainment heroes. Some of the participants in this program include: Houston Texans, Houston Astros, New York Yankees, Roger Clemens, Dom Capers, George Strait, Reba McIntyre, Texas A&M, Brett Favre, and many others.
